Use Safety Lanyards for Fall Protection

The range of lengths that are available for a safety harness retractable lanyard is remarkable. Being able to choose a certain length makes a fall protection retractable lanyard very versatile and useful for many jobs. SRLs are meant to protect your crew and yourself. Certain lanyard lengths are better for certain jobs. For example a shorter SRL, 6-7’ is better for high tower jobs with limited space and fall distance. Longer SRLs considered to be a web lifeline, 20’+ ranges, provides more freedom to move around for jobs that are spread out without the need to switch from various fall arrest systems. When choosing SRLs remember to choose them based on the environment they will be used in. Depending on the heat and whether you will be around any sharp edges, you will want to choose a cable SRL over a web SRL.
