Heavy Duty Edge Series SRL with Boot Cover
The Guardian Fall Protection Heavy Duty Edge Series SRL is designed specifically for Leading Edge work. Its lightweight, neoprene boot cover is designed to provide increased durability, as well as protection against harsh environments or accidental impact. It also includes an integrated shock absorbing component that helps refocus forces away from the portion of the cable that comes into contact with the edge. While the ideal position for any attachment point is overhead, Leading Edge retractables play an important role in the construction industry because, frequently, the only viable attachment point is at foot level. Most SRLs on the marketplace are not certified for such applications, but the Heavy Duty Edge is no common SRL, and holds up against even the toughest use.

Heavy Duty Edge Series Self Retracting Lifelines
The Guardian HD Retractable is designed to be used specifically for Leading Edge work. With an integrated shock pack attached to the cable lifeline, the retractable will keep the arresting forces below 900 lb. while at the same time reducing the amount of impact forces on the cable lifeline itself. The ideal position of a retractable, when used as a part of a PFAS, is directly overhead. Often, contractors will place a retractable on the deck and use it at foot level. Almost all retractables on the market are not allowed to be used in this manner if the worker is exposed to a leading edge hazard. The integrated shock pack will help to reduce the impact forces of the cable as it comes into contact with the leading edge.
Guardian's Heavy Duty series of Edge retractables are Guardian's only SRL's that are certified for leading edge work. While they are still used for regular tie-offs like the regular more common SRL's, the HEAVY DUTY is what let's the consumer know it is for leading edge work and incorporates a shock absorber into the cable lifeline.
